Parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, neighbors are invited bring children to the church to experience “registering” for the census, spending their plastic coins at the shopkeepers’ tents, and build some fun Christmas crafts.
Night In Bethlehem
Night in Bethlehem has become an annual Advent celebration at Luther Memorial. We invite our neighbors to join us again this year on December 11, 2016 as we turn the downstairs Fellowship Hall into a mini Bethlehem. Five or Six “shopkeepers” run their shops with activities for preschool through 6th graders to participate in. Be ready to bring home the crafts your children that afternoon.
Easter Egg Hunt
On Sunday, April 9, 2017, our annual neighborhood East Egg Hunt will be held. Be at church by 2:00 when the children will be lined up by ages and able to hunt for the eggs hidden around the church yard (if weather permits) or inside the building (in case of inclement weather).
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is run early in June each year (June 5-9, 2017) for children who are 3-year old through 6th grade. There is opportunity to share supper as a family, have an opening lesson, then split up by ages to enjoy learning about the theme of the day. Crafts, music, reading, and games are all part of the nightly classes.
Each year, the Friday night before Halloween (Oct 27, 2017), we celebrate with our neighbors by turning the second floor into a child-friendly haunted house, the main floor offices have adults handing out candy to the trick-or-treaters, and the downstairs Fellowship Hall has a movie running, treats for all to eat, and we end with a costume contest in that part of the building.
